On Wednesday 16th November, the Variety Club held a special celebration in the honour and presence of H.R.H Duke of Edinburgh to mark his 90th birthday and was attended by members of Beechwood Homes.
Over 200 guests dined on fabulous food and were entertained by some of the industry’s leading comedians including Al Murray, Frank Carson and Bob ‘The Cat’ Bevan with a surprise performance from Dame Edna Everage.
The top table hosted a collection of loyal Variety Club supporters including; Julia Morley, President of Miss World Organisation, Richard Desmond, owner of Express newspapers, and his fiancé Joy Cranfield, Sir Trevor Chinn and Jarvis Astaire OBE. The afternoon was a brilliant success raising nearly £90,000 for children and young people who are sick, disabled and disadvantaged throughout the UK.
